Find your way around

moni has four tabs and one button in the middle of the tab bar. Here is what each of them shows, so you always know where to look for what you need.

Lesson 2 of 32 2 min
  1. Home: your money at a glance

Home sums it all up: your balance and the Budgetometr, this month’s income and expenses, a chart and the latest from Flow.

Right after setup it’s all zeros; here it is three months on. Tap a card to open its page, or the rate at the top for Exchange rates.

Home three months on: the balance, the Trip to Japan goal, Debts and Loans, the Budgetometr at 15%, income and expenses
  2. Flow: every transaction

Flow lists all your transactions day by day, the newest first, with each day’s total on the right. Before the first one it’s empty.

Here it is after three months. The magnifier at the top finds a transaction by category or comment; swipe one left to delete it.

Flow on October 15: Netflix in 6 days at the top, then the latest transactions day by day
  3. The + adds a transaction

The black + in the middle opens a new transaction from any tab. First pick where the money comes from, then where it goes.

Scan in the top corner reads a paper receipt for you instead. The next lesson explains how moni counts each transaction.

New transaction with the From list open: Wise, Cash, Bitcoin, Trip to Japan and Savings in Balance
  4. Stats: your months side by side

Stats compares your months: money in, money out and where it went. It starts drawing as soon as your first month is over.

Here are three months of it: the chart, then your categories in a ring and every month’s result. Lesson 24 explains all of it.

Stats three months on: income and expenses from August to October, September selected
  5. Menu: everything else

Menu lists your sections with their totals, Exchange rates and your plan. The eye at the top hides every amount in moni at once.

Your plan, moni Use, shows its free days left: five here. Further down: Settings, Export & import, Help & Support and more.

Menu on October 15: the sections with their totals, Exchange rates, and moni Use with 5 days of its free trial left
  6. Every section has its own page

Tap Income, Balance or Expenses on Home or in Menu. Each page has its total, your categories, their transactions and Stats.

The + at the top adds a transaction from right here, and the last tile, New category, adds another category to this section.

The Balance page three months on: Trip to Japan and Savings left out of the total, then Wise, Cash and Bitcoin

If something goes wrong

I can’t find the search
The magnifier appears once there’s something to find: at the top of Flow, and on the Transactions tab of each section. Before your first transaction, there is none.
All my amounts turned into stars
Someone tapped the eye on the Balance card or in Menu. Tap it once more to bring your amounts back. It’s one switch for all of moni, and it stays on until you turn it off.
moni opens on another tab
moni opens on the start screen you picked in Settings, and comes back to it after an hour away. Open Menu, then Settings, and choose Home, Flow, New or Stats there.
Where is my profile?
moni has no account and no profile: all your data stays on your iPhone. You’ll find your plan, your data and all your settings in Menu, under Subscription and Account.
